Scottish landscapes in watercolour

Sadly, due to the new GPSR regulations, I can no longer post items to Northern Ireland and the EU. Any orders from either destination will be cancelled with my deepest apologies. I am very sorry and am working to find solutions.

Scottish borders landscape

Pictures like the one above have always inspired me. I love to paint those dark brooding skies and the zingy grass covered hills. Living in the Scottish Borders I get to see this kind of scene a lot. However I also travelled throughout the rest of Scotland when I was a youngster. The only places I have not been are the far north and the islands.

Four watercolour paintings of scotland

It has been a while since I painted landscapes though. Animals will always be my first love and architecture seems to have been next in line in recent years. Yet there is something freeing about painting the landscape. You can't be overly pernickity about painting grassland or trees. It has to flow or a painting just lacks freshness.

Three watercolour paintings of scotland

These paintings are all 2 inches square (5x5cm) and painted on 4x4 inch (10x10cm) pieces of cotton rag paper. Some are of local areas, others from further afield. Three have sold already but the rest are currently for sale in my web shop.
